Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 26, 2026
People often reach this website on the hardest day of their week, sometimes on a phone, sometimes in a hurry. Accessibility is part of whether it can do its job at all.
Our commitment
Find Your Recovery is used by people who are often in a difficult moment and sometimes in a hurry. Accessibility is part of whether this website works at all.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our target standard across the website, including the directory, forms, and educational content.
What we have implemented
- Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate each page
- Keyboard access to every control, with a visible focus indicator
- A skip-to-content link on every page
- Text contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG AA against its background
- Form fields with programmatically associated labels and inline error messages announced to assistive technology
- Error messages written in plain language that explain how to fix the problem
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and decorative images marked as such
- Touch targets sized for use on a phone, and layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling
- Motion that respects the operating system's reduced-motion setting
- Status announcements, such as result counts, exposed as live regions
Known limitations
We review the site as we build it, but we are aware that some areas need continuing work — particularly the accessibility of documents or pages supplied by third parties, and older educational content as the library grows.
Third-party websites linked from our directory are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
